Ceremony: Cary Senior Center
What a fabulous ceremony! Raina and Syed celebrated their Gaye Holud at the Cary Senior Center the evening before their wedding. Holud, which translates to tumeric, is a traditional ceremony celebrated in the Bengali culture. A special tumeric paste is applied to the faces of the bride and groom and said to beautify. The families and friends of the bride and groom also visit them one by one and feed them traditional sweets to start off their new life in a "sweet state".
The colors, details, sweets, and gifts were wonderful to photograph. Everything was so beautiful and bold! Raina was glowing and looked absolutely stunning, while Syed looked like the happiest man on Earth! It was an honor to document this event!
